Nominees- Best New Comer

I don't have photos of all the nominees in this category! But I will insert the show poster where I am missing them. All these actors have been new to the HK Acting scene in the 2011-2012 year. New talent should be encouraged! Breaking into the scene here can be a little frustrating as open casting calls have become fewer and farther between with the recent rise in venue prices. These actors have risen to the occasion and become breakout talents in this year! I know we will see a lot more of them!

Best New Comer

Sophie Connell/Tracey Wong- Annie
Sophie and Tracey are the two little girls that took on the lead in DEER Theatre's Annie last July. They danced, sang and acted their way into our hearts. They are nominated as a team because they shared the role during the course of the run. I feel bad for the other nominees in this category! These are some really cute kids to compete against! But if they don't win they can always say, the sun will come out tomorrow!
Simon Grunberger- Coffee and Cigarettes
Simon hails from Belgium but has done some professional acting in NYC. He first debuted in Coffee and Cigarettes as the husband in the world premiere of The Maid's Suicide. He is now foraying into producing and directing.
Jonathan Nazer- C&C and Private Lives
Jonathan also made his debut in Aurora Theatre's Coffee and Cigarettes. He also performed in Stylus Theatre's Private Lives later in the year. He has excellent pacing, a charming personality and great facial hair! Got to love a man with the ability to grow a sexy beard!

Lester Clark- Yellow Face
Lester was the highlight in HK Players performance of David Henry Hwang's, Yellow Face. He played multiple characters and took on many different accents. His ability to transform into many different types is something to be commended and his Cameron Mackintosh was hysterical!

Jenny Hann- C&C and The Dining Room
Sadly, Jenny Hann's time on the HK Stage was short lived as she has already high tailed back to the US for her summer stock work. She was glorious in Coffee and Cigarettes as Big 8 and the Dead Maid (which I know is the role you all voted for...) and later performed many different characters in ACT's The Dining Room. On top of being talented she is incredibly hard working and very helpful in the technical side as well! Everyone loves a well rounded performer!
