Supporting Parts can sometimes make or break a show. I'm a firm believer in the team effort of the theatrical experience. There is no small part only small actors (and penises). All these amazing women made great additions to their casts and were nominated as Best Supporting Actress nominees. Once again we have a variety of styles to choose between! Pick your poison ladies and gentlemen!

Shirley Sheung- Private Lives
Shirley took on a role that is very well known and tried to put a new spin on it. Her "tai tai" take on the character was one of the enjoyable parts of the show. I love the tone of her voice when she speaks and I think her stage presence is particularly captivating as a performer. No actress in town does sweet and innocent better than Shirley!

Suzy Sampson- California Suite
Suzy played an insecure actress who is nominated for an award. And look she got nominated for an award for this part! Irony! Hopefully she won't lose and end up recreating what happens in the play. We'll have to hide all the gay guys in the community and that's tough when you're in the theatre business!

Apple Ng- Chopsticks, the Musical
Apple is nominated for her work on the new musical Chopsticks! She had to sing, dance and act. Being a triple threat is hard work! Did I mention she also made out with a girl on stage? I didn't see this show but she obviously made some sort of impression in the Cantonese speaking community as she had an incredible number of votes!

Aisling McDonnell- We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!
Aisling is an Irish actress who was nominated for her work on Dario Fo's satire. She played multiple characters, including men. She even played the Pope! My personal favorite of the show was her lecherous old lady... She has great vocal skills as a performer!

Marion McDonald- I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!
Marion McDonald was a great singer in this show. She also wore a red thong over her clothes during one scene and made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants. I feel nothing else needs to be said about her performance other than she sang great and she was really fucking funny.
